BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 11 — German company BIOWORKS, one of the world’s leading firms in wastewater treatment, is developing a project to recycle water for landscaping and irrigation on Azerbaijan’s Absheron Peninsula, the company’s Regional Representative Yusif Mammadli told Trend.
He made the announcement during the 2nd International Conference for Water Management, noting:
“We are working with the Azerbaijan State Agency for Water Resources (ADSEA) on a project to reuse purified water for technical purposes, including irrigation. Our main goal is to ensure the secondary use of purified water not only in Absheron but also across other regions of the country,” he said.
According to him, the company has already implemented three major projects in Azerbaijan:
“Extended aeration systems were built in Shamakhi and Shahbuz using innovative BIOWORKS technologies. In Nakhchivan, an MBR (membrane bioreactor) system was installed, providing the highest level of water purification,” he emphasized.
Founded in Munich in 2007, BIOWORKS specializes in the treatment of wastewater, industrial water, and process water for reuse in technical and environmental applications.
