In the city of Shahbuz, a wastewater treatment plant was constructed, representing one of the region’s strategic environmental projects. With a capacity of 12,833 PE (60) and 2,800 m³/day, the facility is located in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and was commissioned in November 2018.

The project was implemented in line with BIOWORKS® design, based on the activated sludge process with extended aeration and moving fine-bubble aeration. The facility also incorporates microfiltration and UV disinfection, providing a complete tertiary treatment stage.

BIOWORKS® was responsible for the full design, supply and installation of electromechanical equipment, as well as the implementation of a SCADA automation and control system. This comprehensive approach ensured the plant delivers sustainable solutions, meeting international standards and the highest effluent quality requirements.
